J. Louis Matherne, Sr. began his real estate career in New Orleans after returning from the war and officially went into business on his own in the early 1960's as J. Louis Matherne & Associates.  He was a premier real estate appraiser and Realtor. He was past president of the Real Estate Board of New Orleans and the New Orleans Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers.

John Anderson started working for Louis in 1976 as a residential real estate appraiser and has been with the firm since.  Jenny Matherne worked for Louis, her father, part-time through her college years and has been with the firm since.  While J. Louis Matherne, Sr. is no longer with us, Jenny and John have continued on working together as a team and/or independently as the service requirement dictates, and have entered into our new business model of appraising, sales and leasing.
